Adult Formation Ministry
Strive to help individuals to know about and to live Gospel values through learning experiences. The focus is on teaching Christians how to live and express their faith in light of our time.
Advent Angel Ministry
The Advent Angel Tree is an annual ministry of St. Joseph on the Brandywine. It is an opportunity to bring the love of Christ to our neighbors in need during the Christmas season. The mission of the Advent Angel Ministry is to assist the needy by offering gifts and essentials of daily living such as food and shelter.
Under the direction of the Diocesan Catholic Youth & Adult Ministry, basketball, a winter sport, is offered for our parishioners within our faith community. Volunteer opportunities exist in compliance with Diocesan guidelines.
Building Maintenance Committee
Advise and assist the Pastor on building maintenance issues.
Volunteer or substitute to participate within the Religious Education program. Catechists are needed to work with children and teach classes. Training, materials and support are provided. St. Joseph on the Brandywine participates in the Diocese of Wilmington Safe Environments program, For the Sake of God's Children and are committed to the safety of the children you entrust to our care.
Volunteer sales consultants meet with families to select and/or purchase their final resting place for at-need and/or pre-need. Easter Angel Ministry: Our parishioners collect and donate monetary and non-perishable food items to which are donated to St. Catherine of Siena and Corpus Christi in an effort to provide for families in need.
Emmanuel Dining Room Ministry
Volunteers provide and prepare chicken and various desserts monthly to support the Emmanuel Dining Room.
Creates beautiful environment for Sunday liturgy and special times reflective of the liturgical year.
This is a consultative board of appointed parishioners and supports the good governance of a parish and helps there be accountability to the diocese and to the parishioners to ensure a vibrant parish community.
Food Pantry Ministry
Our community collects items once a month to provide relief and nourishment to all guests of the food pantryand donates these items to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Catherine of Siena and Corpus Christi.
Plan and implement programs and activities that enable people to experience God in Church and community through faith sharing, welcoming and reaching out. Example, Lenten meal, coffees, and special event activities.
Knights of Columbus
A fraternal organization for men aged 18 or older that are practicing Catholics. The Council based at SJOB perform, sponsor and support Church, community activities in our area. It is an organization that allows members to live their faith. New members are always welcome.
Located in the family center, the librar seeks to provide families with information, inspiration, and spiritual guidance through books and media.
Ministry to the Elderly
Two elder-care facilities fall under the auspices of St. Joseph on the Brandywine; Country House and Stonegates. Ministry at these facilities includes Mass, communion, and the anointing of the sick as needed and any other special events as requested.
Parish Council Committee
Function as the voice of parishioners in regards to programs needed for the spiritual good of the parish.
Respect Life Committee
Create an awareness of the dignity of life through supporting various parish activities programs such as Birthright of Delaware and Mom's House. Request prayerful participation in this mission; aid in existing programs such as Birthright of Delaware and Mom's House.
Rite of Christian Initiation (Adults)
Catechists and sponsors provide opportunity for unbaptized persons or those baptized in other faiths to be initiated into the Roman Catholic Church.
St. Joseph on the Brandywine Memory Room
Coordinate; organize information in the parish archives.
Silent Prayer Community
This confidential, powerful Ministry of Prayer intercedes to Jesus and Mary for your particular intentions- prays at all hours of the day and night; does not have formal meetings.
Participate in Annual Stewardship, Catholic Appeal and any other special campaigns.
